Hiring a Roofing Contractor: Our Best Tips

Search for licenses, read reviews, and ask for references. We are happy to provide references and photos of similar, recent jobs upon request.

You should obtain at least 3 quotes from different contractors. Remember that the lowest bid may not necessarily be the best. If one bid is significantly lower than the others, the contractor may not meet all requirements, or may be cutting corners.

Obtain all estimates in writing. Estimates should include a detailed description of all work to be completed, labor and material costs, payment arrangements, and warranty information.

Any qualified contractor should be happy to provide you with a certificate of insurance upon request. 

Consider obtaining estimates from local companies. If anything goes wrong down the road, your local companies are not going anywhere. It is best to use contractors who have a physical, local office that you can visit.
